About the Opportunity
Kingsley College now has an exciting opportunity for a Primary Teacher to join their team in Rockhampton, QLD on a full-time permanent basis.
Reporting to the Head Teacher and School Principal, this position will be delivering both on-campus and distance education programs to students in grades 3-4.
Your key duties will include, but will not be limited to:
- Effectively organising your classes, and maintaining quality care and discipline of students;
- Maintaining a high standard of work amongst students;
- Evaluating and assessing each child’s progress, and reporting to parents verbally and in written form;
- Knowing, planning, programming and teaching the school’s curriculum at the appropriate standards for that class;
- Involving parents in the school program;
- Attending staff meetings, parent / teacher meetings, interviews, worship and staff devotions;
- Attending In-service Courses and Out of Hours School Functions as required by the College;
- Carrying out playground duties as rostered, and reporting areas of maintenance needs to the office; and
- Submitting classroom budgetary requests to the Principal when needed.
About You
To be considered for this role, you must be a qualified Teacher with QLD Teacher Registration (or ability to obtain).
You will need to implement the school's Christian values and philosophy, both in the classroom and in other aspects of College life. You must be committed to fostering faith and delivering significant educational outcomes for students.
The successful candidate will be confident utilising a variety of teaching resources to plan interesting units of study across multiple subject areas. You will also demonstrate competence in the use of technology within the classroom, including relevant computer programs.
Applicants should be comfortable working with a diverse group of students and families from both high and low socio-economic backgrounds, multicultural backgrounds and varying levels of ability. Strong interpersonal skills will be essential, including the ability to effectively communicate, motivate and inspire students, and to develop effective working relationships with parents, senior management and staff.
